‘The River Valley Ride is absolutely incredible! I started out super nervous, and in the fog, we cantered up a hill to a view overlooking miles of bucolic hills. In that moment, from the back of a horse, I knew this was where I was meant to be. We spent our days riding high and low; we crossed rivers and learned about the unique Māori culture along the way, and we made some incredible friends. On our last day, we climbed and climbed on horseback to a view of the whole area, with the horses grazing around us for our picnic lunch. That moment I will cherish forever! I rode Dakota, who was amazing—a horse I needed to grow and gain trust with while also having fun and pushing my limits. I loved how excited he got when it was time to go. Eight days were just right for this itinerary. I’m so happy I was able to take this trip; I needed that time to reconnect with who I am!’
