There is SO much about Tasmania that keeps us coming back for more. The Apple Isle is not just a smorgasbord of awe-inspiring natural beauty, it’s also a foodie’s paradise. Imagine waking up to birdsong and a country sunrise, downing a moreish breakfast of local produce, then hitting the saddle to explore temperate rainforests, windswept mountains, time-worn bush tracks and THE most heavenly beach. Come sundown, you’re sitting back with a plate full of gourmet goodies, watching the horses grazing peacefully alongside kangaroos and wallabies.
THAT is The Tassie Ride in a nutshell. It’s everything we love about Tasmania packed into five {or four, or three} unforgettable days.
Your hosts, Ray and Laura Becker, are passionate locals through and through. They have exclusive access to some extraordinary riding trails within easy reach of two unique accommodation sites: the historic homestead of Brickendon Estate; and Bakers Beach Retreat, on the border of Narawntapu National Park.
Out on the trail, your guides can create a truly customised experience for everyone. Beginners can build their confidence on safe, reliable horses while more advanced riders let loose on free-spirited canters.
Trust us: once you bite into the Apple Isle, you’ll be hooked. It will make your heart sing, your spirit soar, and its beauty will leave you breathless.

‘The Tassie ride was amazing! I just loved my handsome steed, Leo, who was an absolute gentleman, and he did everything I asked of him. Our guides were very knowledgeable and looked after us well. The accommodation was stunning, and our cottage in the National Park was cosy and warm every night with the fire on and beautiful views.’
Jeanette H.
‘I love the community I find on Globetrotting rides; this was my fifth Globetrotting trip! The Tassie Ride was a ‘short break’ for me. Nevertheless, it felt like an out-of-this-world experience. I rode a wonderful, oh-so-handsome, forward-moving, bold, kind horse in Graham (Percheron cross). Absolutely dedicated and lovely hosts and guides, who you wish lived next door to you. How do I keep meeting fantastic people on these rides? Always so different, and they become your friends—this time, in only a few days. We had lovely, relaxed rides through very pretty terrain, where you could just breathe in all that beautiful, pristine-scented air. I got this and lots of laughs too. The meals were fantastic; Tasmanian produce is really exceptional, and it was all so carefully prepared. I’ll be back!’

‘The Tassie ride was honestly the best experience! I felt safe and comfortable the whole time, which made it so easy to just enjoy myself. The food was absolutely amazing, and the guides—especially Barb—were the loveliest people, so welcoming and fun to be around. The horses were so well taken care of, with their saddles fitted perfectly, and I loved how brilliantly matched the horses and riders were. It was the perfect mix of adventure and comfort, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.’

‘Such a wonderful ride in a beautiful area of Tasmania! I loved going to the chocolate factory for breakfast and the gin distillery for lunch. I rode Jerry and Tessa, both beautiful mares, and I was happy with them. The guides were very attentive and friendly. Every day was wonderful; I am already looking at my next Globetrotting ride—I didn’t want it to end.’
Angie D.
‘For someone who doesn’t own a horse, this is the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with a horse and ride in a way that is more than the standard 1.5-hour rides you get. From pick-up to drop-off afterwards, the adventure is filled with good quality food and accommodation, supportive staff, responsive horses, and a variety in riding. I loved that I could brush my horse, put his bridle on, and cuddle him. I came away falling in love with horses all over again and with a heart filled with memories I will treasure and rave about to anyone who listens!’

‘The Tassie ride was my first riding holiday, and I loved having the opportunity to ride at so many different locations throughout the week. My horse Nav, a wonderful chestnut Arab gelding, was a pleasure to ride, easy-going and happy to carry me along Bakers Beach or the Cradle Mountain National Park. Our lovely guides were friendly, caring, and capable, taking many photos at spectacular spots. They also chauffeured us around, took us out for breakfast and dinner, or cooked meals for us at our beautiful overnight accommodations. Altogether, it was a glorious week with great weather and a memorable horse riding adventure.’
Lisa R.
‘I loved everything about the Cradle to Coast ride: the horses, the food, the views, the guides, and the group I rode with. We stayed at Bakers Beach in beautiful and comfortable accommodation. What a view! Everyone loved the sauna and hot or cold baths. I rode Chockie, a lovely, quiet gelding who was fabulous with his slightly nervous rider aboard. The guides were wonderful, so friendly and helpful. The beach ride was one of my best rides ever! An unforgettable experience, and one I’d love to do again soon.’
Linda R.
‘The Tassie ride is one of the best holiday experiences I have ever had! I loved every minute! The hosts are really down-to-earth people. Everything was perfect! I rode BB, a well-trained, quiet horse, and I felt safe riding him, which gave me confidence. This ride made me come alive again and want more experiences like this. I’ve already booked my next ride!’
Meryn S.
‘This ride provided some of the most enjoyable equine experiences of my life! This ride provided some of the most enjoyable equine experiences of my life! The beach ride on the last day was the best. It was stunningly beautiful and we had a chance to have some fun in the waves and cantering on the hard sand, a perfect day with a beautiful horse. I rode Rollo, he was super comfortable and exactly what I requested, a quiet horse but happy to get up and go when asked. Our guides were super fun, really easy to chat to with lots of extra, interesting information on the properties where we rode. I loved the great outdoor baths at our accommodation, I had a very relaxing soak after the ride!’
