Margaret River: synonymous with white-sand beaches, aquamarine waters, world class vineyards, top-shelf regional fare and vino, and a temperate climate. It’s no secret why this southern region of Western Australia has been the number one tourist destination for decades.
So it’s with great excitement that Globetrotting presents to you The Margaret River Ride, in partnership with husband and wife duo, Paul Brennan and Fiona Flugge. These two beautiful souls have been making equine enthusiasts grin from ear to ear for the past ten years with their morning and afternoon rides from their Margaret River property, which also happens to be a boutique vineyard.
With help from these two locals, we’ve engineered a ride that encompasses everything we love about the iconic Margaret River region. Imagine salty, windswept, never-ending beach canters, swimming your horse bareback in the tranquil ocean and riding along secluded bush tracks and wide open, golden pastures alive with native wildlife including large mobs of kangaroos, emus and red-tailed black cockatoos.
From arrival to departure you’ll eat and drink some of the best regional food and wine that this hub has to offer. If you’ve always wanted to explore this very special part of Australia then you MUST make a beeline for The Margaret River Ride.

What our valued Globetrotters say about The Margaret River Ride
Aliza V.
‘This one is a ride for the wine lovers and beach lovers out there! From vineyards to white sandy beaches, through forests and bush tracks, where the delicious cuisine and wine never stops! Great horses, great guides, hosts and even a game of Polocrosse. You will not be bored!’
Loretta B.
‘This ride was a complete package. Great hosts, a great setting, and the matching of riders to amazing horses made for an unforgettable experience. The guides were excellent, and the accommodation was superb—yes, real beds in the biggest tent you’ve ever seen! We enjoyed great food and drinks, especially since we were at a winery after all. All the riding destinations were exceptional, with Boranup Forest being particularly special. Paul and Fiona went out of their way to ensure we had the best stay, and indeed, we did. An afternoon of polocrosse was a hoot under the watchful eye of our ref/coach, Paul. The skills gap was high, but so was the enthusiasm! I would happily play again. We loved the ride so much that we are already planning to return!’
Clare B.
‘This ride felt like a home away from home (minus the responsibilities!). Our horses were thoughtfully tailored to our riding ability, and our guides were knowledgeable. The owners, Paul and Fiona, treated us as though we were part of the family. I am so grateful for the amount of effort invested in our stay and couldn’t recommend this ride highly enough.’
Claire H.
‘Was I dreaming, or was this trip real? What an incredible experience! Paul and Fiona were so welcoming and such wonderful hosts. The food was incredible; I felt like we were eating at a 5-star restaurant every night. A big thank you to our chef, Alex, for cooking a feast every night. I loved every minute of this trip. My favourite part was the Polo Cross – what a thrill! I would love to be back again next year!’
Yuen C.
‘The Margaret River Ride was truly unforgettable! The accommodation was fantastic; the tents were very spacious (with standing room!) and held up beautifully even in heavy rainfall, strong winds, and hail. The beds were super comfortable, and everything we needed was provided for. The food was another highlight of the trip. Lunches and dinners were varied, plentiful, and always delicious, leaving us very happy with the standard of meals served. I had the pleasure of riding Melman, Bella, and Romy. Melman was my favourite—hilariously uncoordinated and incredibly clumsy, but in the funniest way! Bella excelled at polocrosse, despite my own lack of coordination, and Romy was fantastic on the beach ride. The guides were exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure we were all happy and comfortable. They worked well as a team and had extensive knowledge of the trails and horses, which made the experience even more enjoyable. My favourite day was the ride through the Boranup forest. It was the first day we had sunshine, and riding through that gorgeous forest was simply incredible. I can’t wait for my next adventure!’
Melanie A.
‘Brilliant! First time I’ve felt genuinely relaxed in years. It was one of the best trips I’ve done to date. The hardest part of the whole experience is choosing which ride to book next! 5-stars!’
Tim S.
‘The whole experience with Globetrotting from the initial booking to the ride was seamless. Our hosts at Margaret River were exceptional, and I get the impression that this is no accident; I suspect this is true worldwide when booking with Globetrotting. I rode a mare called Cassie; she’s a babe, a salt-of-the-earth worker always up for a trot or canter, but quite happy to stand for the photo opportunities too! All the staff and guides were very hospitable, knowledgeable, and helpful; nothing was too much trouble, and they were always up for a bit of banter, which kept things fun and upbeat. The first day was perfection: a longer day in the saddle, lunch and billy tea in the Jarrah, and sipping Jamieson’s while listening to the rain (which just missed us) on the tin roof at the end of the day!’
Kieren C.
‘I have been riding horses for about 18 months now, and I definitely class myself as a nervous rider. However, the beautiful horses I rode, the ladies who coached and cheered me on, the stunning sights, and the opportunities I had helped me grow in more ways than I ever could have anticipated! That last day, putting all my trust in Frida and cantering freely up and down the beach was the best feeling ever; it was the first time I’ve really felt one with my horse.’
Tracey S.
‘The Margaret River Ride was incredible in every way. The accommodation in glamping tents was wonderful, stylish and extremely comfortable. All the meals were exceptional. We had our own personal chef who was passionate and talented, using produce that was fresh and in-season and delicious. Our wonderful guides were also exceptional! They were lovely, authentic, professional, safe, efficient, intelligent, knowledgeable and fun. The horses were well-loved and trained very well for our rides, making it hard to say goodbye. The hospitality that Paul and Fiona offered was second to none. We were treated like family and made to feel at home immediately.’
