How did you find Graham?
Graham was bred on King Island. He later moved to Melbourne, where he began his career as a carriage horse and worked for a few months. When the business closed down, we purchased Graham and his brother, Bluey, and brought them back to Tasmania. We spent time retraining him as a riding horse, and he’s been an absolute gem ever since. Everyone loves Graham!
What do riding guests most love about Graham?
He is very responsive and forward-going, with a stunning presence and loads of personality.
What do you as guides love most about Graham?
We love riding Graham because he’s fun, smart, and a real smoocher! He is completely food-obsessed, which we often joke about. Guides know he must be fed first—he’s high in the pecking order, and everyone respects him!
Mention some of Graham’s idiosyncrasies:
Feeds must be ready in advance, or he will not tolerate waiting for breakfast or dinner—haha! He can also hear a muesli bar being opened from 2 km away.
Anything else we should know about Graham?
What isn’t there to love about Graham? His full brother, Bluey, looks just like him but has a very different temperament. They are best friends and inseparable.
