Firstly, let’s just linger on our ride location for a moment, globetrotters…
Any equestrian worth their salt understands the significance of County Tipperary in Ireland {think Coolmore Stud}. Horses and Tipperary are inextricably linked – the county has produced some of the world’s most famous racehorses. So what better backdrop to hone, learn and upskill than on a bowling green-esque cross country course in the equestrian heart of Ireland? On top of this, you’ll have top-level coaching on tap and be mounted on schoolmaster Irish Sport Horses.
It’s drool-worthy – and we’re speaking from experience. In 2018 we were fortunate enough to test out the coaching, horses and cross country course during the day while retiring to our luxurious estate house of an evening. And we’re STILL buzzing from the experience. Your coach, Mark Molloy, has over two decades of coaching experience and takes the time to get to know each rider individually. You’ll slip into a daily rhythm of hitting the cross country course in the morning, wandering back to the house for a delicious lunch, then enjoying another jumping session in the afternoon.
Now when you’re not in the saddle, you’ll be hosted by the Egan family – think Irish country hospitality on steroids. Inch House will be your home-away-from-home: an impeccably furnished, two-story luxury manor house. We’ve thrown in a non-riding day in the middle to give you time to rest your body and enjoy some local sight-seeing, ending with a home-grown fiddle performance that only the locals (and now you!) know about!
We’ve worked super hard to develop an itinerary that takes in the VERY BEST of Tipperary, both in and out of the saddle. Say YES!
**If you are considering a UK or a European sojourn, have you seen some of the other UK rides we now offer? You could extend your trip to 10 days or a fortnight and sample a second or even a third ride to deepen or enhance the flavour of your trip to a full ‘Best of British Isles’ menu. We have designed the UK summer season to help you do exactly this, with one or two days between ‘complementary’ departures.

What our valued Globetrotters say about The Cross Country Ride
Robyn S.
‘I’m still grinning from the exhilaration of getting to spend four days with amazing people on the ideal horse for me—cross-country jumping on a beautiful 400-acre farm in gorgeous Ireland. Jake, our coach, was clear, direct, and helpful in keeping us safe. He was also cheeky and funny, and in no way condescending; he supported everyone. Inch House is so comfortable and lovely—no lies about the quantity of good home-cooked food! Take stretchy pants! Nora at Inch House is the best host imaginable; she genuinely cares about everybody. It was great to have the whole house to ourselves, and we all slipped into an easy routine. We loved the Coolmore Stud tour—our guide was super engaging and lovely. Meeting the stallions was a highlight. Dinners out, especially in Cashel, were fabulous too. We had a fantastic group, and we’re all planning another ride together in 2027. If you love to jump, do this ride!’
Samantha W.
‘My daughter and I loved our Ireland adventure! The horses were to die for, and the accommodation and grounds were spectacular. The team were all so welcoming and kind. In particular, Jake, our jumping coach; John, our bus driver; and the staff at Inch House, they all looked after us so well and made our holiday wonderful. I think the best part was the other riders: we all got along super well and supported and encouraged each other, including sharing riding holiday favs for next time. My favourite part was definitely learning how to tackle a cross-country course; I could do it all day, every day! I’m addicted now!’
Kimberly F.
‘The Cross Country ride in Tipperary was amazing! I exceeded my goal on day one. I jumped things that I never imagined I would jump and felt great doing it (I’m a nervous rider). Jake, our instructor, was incredible and encouraging; I think I will hear ‘more leg’ in my head forever. Nora at Inch House was more like a foster mother than a host, and she fed us so well. I went by myself and bonded with the most amazing group of women. We are already making plans to travel together again. Basically, this trip was a fairy tale, and the only downside was that Hudson, my ride for the week, wouldn’t fit in my carry-on luggage. I will really miss him. If you are wondering whether you should do this trip, do it! Bonus points for the professional photography package.’
Rachel F.
‘The Tipperary XC ride is nothing short of magical; it was a breathtaking week. Nora and the team were so accommodating, friendly, and helpful; she really brought Inch House to life! The breakfast spread was absolutely stunning, and we were plied with spuds on spuds on spuds—everything was bountiful and delicious. I rode Jack, a spicy Irish Sport horse who absolutely loves his job. We flew over enormous fences and galloped over the countryside; I couldn’t have asked for a better match! Our instructors were so much fun; you can tell everyone at Crossogue is part of one big horse-loving family. Jake was so knowledgeable and helped tangibly improve my riding over the course of the week. My favourite day was tackling the steps for the first time; they were so large and impending, but with the utmost confidence from my instructor and horse, we flew up them with no problem. I conquered jumps I’d only dreamed of and have made good use of what I’ve learned at home!’
Kellie H.
‘I had a great trip with my daughter-in-law, bonding over horses and Guinness. The horses were well taken care of, and the guides were friendly and supportive, providing us with a challenging experience. We could not have asked for anything better from them. Oh, and having porridge with cream every morning was a fantastic start to the day!’
Ruth H.
‘This ride was FREAKING AMAZING! I went alone, and by the end of day one, I had 12 new friends. Also, by the end of day one, we had all done something that we’d never done before and that we thought maybe we’d do at the end of a week. We were excited and a little terrified about what day two would bring. Then a funny thing happened – instead of being scared, I started wanting to tackle everything because I could totally trust my horse, and the instructor knew exactly how to have me ride him. By the end of day three, we’d ridden jumps that I thought it would take me a year to work up to. I was exhilarated! We didn’t want the week to end, and we didn’t want to part ways.’
Maggie C.
‘Sign up for this ride immediately! If you’re looking for a confidence boost in XC, this is the adventure for you! The trainers are fun and extremely experienced. I felt secure and well set up for each piece of the course. My horse for the week, Jack, was spicy but just what I needed to get out of my comfort zone. He’s extremely athletic, comfortable, and so much fun! The stables are clean and well-maintained, and all the horses are well taken care of. I plan to return for another week of XC with Jack and Jeanne.’
Wendy M.
‘The Cross Country in Tipperary ride was one of my favourite rides with Globetrotting; the accommodation was superb, with fantastic food and the nicest host, Nora, who treated us all as family. The horses were so much fun; I rode Blueberry, a big warmblood. He suited me well and jumped everything in sight. The instructors were great; they challenged us to constantly move beyond our comfort zones, but the progression was gradual and timed well. Above all else, the grounds we rode over were the best I’ve ever ridden on.’
Hope T
‘The XC in Tipperary ride shattered all expectations. The hosts were so attentive, accommodating, and entertaining to spend the week with. The house itself was full of character and was gorgeous. We were always greeted with warm good mornings at breakfast and fun banter at dinner. The food was delicious and I will be dreaming about their desserts for weeks/months/years to come! The coaches were amazing with regards to their hospitality, knowledge, sincerity and care for both the riders and the horses. I had the honour and privilege of riding Seamus, affectionately known as Seamus the Famous. He was a textbook gentle giant. While I was nervous in the early stages of the trip due to his size and forwardness, but my confidence quickly soared. I got to increase both the height and quantity of jumps completed in each outing, incorporate different types of jumps, and faced some of my greatest fears. I left each day with a smile and a sense of accomplishment that has not been matched with any other horse, lesson, or vacation. Mark has a knack for pairing riders and horses, encouraging focusing on energy and enthusiasm rather than worrying about technique, and creating an environment full of support and genuine excitement. I could not recommend this holiday enough!’
