Horse riding holidays in Namibia

A land of raw beauty, untamed wilderness, and infinite horizons

Horse Riding Holidays in Namibia

Horse riding holidays in Indonesia take you far beyond the tourist trail. This archipelago of thousands of islands hides some of the world’s most untouched riding destinations, where ancient horse cultures still thrive and empty beaches stretch for miles.

Ride native ponies along volcanic coastlines, swim bareback in tropical waters, and explore villages where horses remain central to daily life. Indonesia offers something rare: the chance to experience authentic equestrian traditions that have survived centuries, all wrapped in the kind of natural beauty that stops you in your tracks.

This is horse riding in Indonesia. Wild, luxurious, and worlds away from ordinary.

‘This is a tough ride—mentally and physically—but I was rewarded with an amazing horse and guides who took care of me in every way. Each day, the changing landscape took my breath away. The long-distance, slow canters through grassy plains, as the sun was setting, reminded me of a movie scene. The fast gallops were exhilarating and almost had me screaming with joy. I rode Cuervo, and he was everything I could wish for and more—the perfect partner to take me 324 km across the desert. I was told he would take me to war if needed, and this was not wrong. This darling boy was fast, with the most comfortable canter and gallop; he was dependable, smart, and not to mention good-looking! Crossing Kuiseb Canyon truly showed me the generous spirit that a horse can have. Spending time with like-minded people from all walks of life filled me with gratitude and camaraderie.’

‘This ride is a journey of a lifetime! It is so much more than you can ever imagine. The feeling of being so completely removed from society/reality was overwhelmingly liberating. There is also something very humbling and spiritual about being somewhere so wild, vast and untouched by mankind. I think the phrase “losing yourself in the desert to find yourself” is very true. This trip felt more like a pilgrimage. Every day we rode, I went a little deeper into my soul. Layer by layer, day by day, kilometre by kilometre, I reconnected with a part of myself in a way I haven’t for many years. Never-ending changing scenery, breathtaking sunsets and sunrises, sleeping under the clearest of skies magically lit by the most amazing moon I have ever seen, riding one of the most remarkable mares I have had the privilege to ride, some of fastest most thrilling riding I have done, lovely soft canters over rolling landscapes, 5-star food, G&Ts with lemon and ice, exceptional company, not seeing another soul for days on end and a country unlike any other I have visited. This ride was truly one of the most remarkable things I have done.’
